My love for Nepal began in 1996 when I first traveled as a tourist. Knowing that I got so much more than I gave, I made a commitment to repay the Nepalese people for their generosity and warmth. For a few years I worked with a different US based non-profit placing English speaking teachers in primary schools in the Solukhumbu District. Then I found the HImanchal Educational Foundation, a US based organization that shared my vision of creating sustainable projects and communities in Nepal without functioning as an ‘aid’ organization or buildling wealth for a few fortunate individuals.
Because my Masters in Social Work focused on organizational development, I have had extensive experience managing non-profits in the US. My passion comes form joining my love for organizational development with helping a very ethical organization work towards a sustainable standard of living for residents in Nangi.
